Taranaki is not only a place to find the soulful beauty of New Zealand’s heartland, but is also home to dynamic city New Plymouth and a coastline of stunning surf beaches. Mt Taranaki is ever-present in this region—a huge, dramatic volcanic cone with a snowy top in winter months.

Taranaki is connected to Auckland on just a 40 minute flight, Wellington on a 45 minute flight and Christchurch in less than an hour and a half. There are three ways to drive to Taranaki – from the north and Auckland (4.5 hours), the south and Wellington (4.5 hours) or via the scenic Forgotten World Highway, which connects to the Central North Island (2.5 hours).
